This inflatable tube is a continuous inflatable buoyancy system designed for cost-effective and efficient cable/pipeline installation. It replaces traditional individual floats with a single tube attached directly to the cable at 1–1.2m intervals, providing uniform support and eliminating point loading.
The system can be rolled onto standard pallets, deploys rapidly from a braked drum, and allows surface control of sinking and re-floating. Operators can pause cable laying during adverse conditions, lift cables to hit trenches, or tow sections several kilometres. It operates at less than half the cost of solid buoyancy, suits ultra‑shallow water (e.g., swamps), and can be vented remotely to place the pipe gently on the seabed.
